Crowdfunding

We rely on regular donations to build and maintain our free wireless network. We use betterplace.org for it. This is easier for both us and you. Donation receipts are issued by betterplace.org and sent in February of the following year.

Donating Hardware

Direct donations of hardware also help us operate the network. But please don’t just show up with a pile of hardware. Contact us beforehand and let us know what devices you have. Here are a few tips on what hardware is useful to us:

Routers & Access Points

• The device should meet the minimum requirements for OpenWRT and be supported by OpenWRT (see hardware table).
• No 2.4GHz only Wi-Fi

Switch

• Managed switch (layer 2) for V-Lan management

Cables

• Cat5e or better
• We also accept fiber optic cables and modules

Server

• DDR3 ECC 8GB UDIMM 1600MHZ
• HP Gen 8&9 LFF HDD Caddy
• Enterprise Sata SSDs >=120GB
• DDR4 ECC RAM >= 16GB
• Server that is not >10 years old
• Managed PDU
• 10G network cards
